the volume of the metallic cylinder=π(R²-r²)h
=748=22/7(4.5²-r²)14
=748/22=2(20.25-r²)
=34=2(20.25-r²)
=17=20.25-r²
=17-20.25=-r²
=-2.25=-r²
r=±1.5

and hence the thickness=4.5-1.5=3 cm

cady1: but the answer in my book is given 1 cm
Anonymous: i have also done it
Anonymous: plzz read the statements
cady1: hmm
Anonymous: i have written that thickness =external diameter-internal diameter=2
Anonymous: i meant 1
cady1: oh i havent noticed the answer thank you
Anonymous: sorry i had made a silly mistake
Anonymous: hope u don't mind it
Anonymous: but i have corrected it
