We know that volume of cylinder=πr2h
Therefore 22/7*r2*8=308
r2=308*7/22*1/8
r2=49/4
r=√49/4
r=7/2=3.5cm
Therefore L. S. A of the cylinder =2πrh
=2*22/7*3.5*8
=176cm2
Also T. S. A of cylinder =2πr(r+h)
=2*22/7*3.5(3.5+8)
=253cm2
