\underline{\bf Solu{}^{n}}

Let, the increase in wages amount is = X Rs

Now, new wages of,

➔man=(80+X) Rs.

➔man=(80+X) Rs.➔boy=(35+X) Rs.

Now, according to the condition,

\sf\longrightarrow \bf (80+X)=\frac{8}{5}\times (35+X)

\sf\longrightarrow 5\times (80+X)=8\times (35+X)

\sf\longrightarrow 5\times 400+5X=280+8X

\sf\longrightarrow 5\times 8X-5X=400-280

\sf\longrightarrow  3X=\frac{\cancel{120}}{\cancel3}

\sf\longrightarrow \bf \boxed{\red{\large{ X= 40 \:\:Rs}}}

∴ Increase in wages was = 40 Rs.
