weight of the man = y
man weight = four times of the child
y = 4x

Let the weight of the child be 'x'.
Then the weight of the child will be y
Therefore we can write that the weight of the child is equal to 1/4 th of his father's weight.
Therefore the equation will be:-
4x=y.
