The weight of an object is 30 N on earth’s surface. What will happen to its weight if it is taken to a planet , whose mass is less than the mass of earth.

if the body is taken to another planet with less mass the it's weight should decrease.

now we are making an assumption that mass is decreased but the radius is same.

because if the square of it's radius decreases by the same factor as it's mass the weight remains unchanged.

but I am certain your teachers expect answer to be (c) as they do not often care about such little details but you should keep in mind what assumptions we have made so that the concept is clear.
