The weight of four boxes together is 66.5 kg. The weight of box B is 2 kg less than box A and the weight of box C is 1.5 kg more than box A. If the weight of box D is 1.5 kg more than box C, find the weight of each box.​

Let the weight of box D=X

then the weight of box C =X-1•5

then the weight of box A=X-1•5-1•5

then the weight of box B=X-1•5-1•5-2

According to question,

X+X-1•5+X-1•5-1•5+X-1•5-1•5-2=66•5

Or, X+X+X+X-1•5-1•5-1•5-1•5-1•5-2=66•5

Or, 4x-9•5=66•5

Or, 4x=66•5-9•5

Or, 4x=57

So, the weight of box D=14•25

the weight of box C=14•25-1•5=13•20
