There are protons and neutrons present in the nucleus of an atom. But as we know that

same charges repel each other then how protons are kept together in nucleus??

firstly neutrons are neutral in charge and protons are kept at a stable distance from the electrons therefore the between the protons are kept in the nucleus.

Answer:-firstly,I think you know that neutron has no charge.

And proton has positive charge when neutron added to the nucleus then size of nucleus become big So,the radius of proton is enough to overcome the positive charge.

So,some other charges overcome the electromagnetic repulsions force that's why protons held together.
