Given,

Weights of three varieties of rice bags = 48kg , 36kg, 72kg

To find,

The maximum value of weight which can measure the weights of the rice exact number of times.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Here, we have to calculate the HCF of the given values of weight.

HCF :

48 = 2×2×2×2×3

36 = 2×2×3×3

72 = 2×2×2×3×3

Common factors = 2,2,3

HCF = 2×2×3 = 12

This value of HCF will be the value for maximum weight (ie. 12kg) which can measure the weights of the rice exact number of times.

Maximum weight = 12 kg

[48kg weight can be measured in 4 times , 36kg can be measured weight in 3 times , 72kg can be measured weight in 6 times]

Hence, the maximum weight is 12 kg
