Equal pay for equal work has been constitutionally being given the rights to the Indian citizens.

The directives of this principles comes under the preview of Labor rights internationally, monitored through the ILO.

Article 14 of the Constitution of India further envisages same ideology, which is further realized under Article 39.

The partiality done to the women being paid less, are on the basis of their being considered less capable of pursuing the labor due to the scientific and orthodox acceptance of their physique lesser to men though punishable under Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
