Given : Dimensions of ∆ ABC are 26 cm, 28cm, 25cm

Garland is to be placed along the side of ∆PQR which is formed by joining midpoints of sides ∆ ABC

To Find : length of the garland

Solution:

∆PQR  is formed by joining midpoints of sides ∆ ABC

line joining the mid-point of two sides of a triangle is equal to half the length of the third side

Hence the length of  PQ , QR and PR are the Half of the sides of the triangle ABC

so perimeter of ∆PQR = Perimeter of ∆ ABC /2

Perimeter of ∆ ABC  = AB + BC +AC  = 26 + 28 + 25  =   79

perimeter of ∆PQR = 79/2 = 39.5 cm

length of the garland =  perimeter of ∆PQR

=> length of the garland = 39.5 cm
