Tropical evergreen to Alpine vegetation:

India is a vast stretch of land extending from the hills and chilling glaciers of Himalayas to sea and humid climate of Kanyakumari. This vast stretch has deserts in Rajasthan to places of highest rainfall like cherrapunji.  This stretch has vast and huge gangetic plain, which is very fertile and has vast stretches of forests.

Being most of its parts in the tropical region, it has tropical vegetation, which includes forests of western Ghats, having trees with broad leaves and thick barks on trees.  Himalayan stretches have alpine vegetation, including pine, fir, cycas etc. Its very common there.
