Which chemical process is used to get the metal from its oxide?
ANSWER:
Reduction process.
We are given a metal oxide and we need to convert that metal oxide to the normal metal.
This means that we have to remove the oxygen from the metal.
This implies that we have to reduce the metal because loss of oxygen is termed as reduction.
I am giving an example:
Suppose MgO has to be reduced to Mg.
This case involves removal of Oxygen from MgO and hence is called reduction.
Note that if we were to add oxygen then it would have been oxidation.

Heya mate
The answer of ur question is here
♢♢ This method is basically reduction of metal oxide to metal. The process used for reduction depends on the reactivity of the ore :-
1) For elements at the top of the activity series ⇒ Electrolysis
2) For elements in the middle of the reactivity series ⇒ Reduction by reducing agent like Carbon , Carbon Monoxide , Hydrogen
3) For elements at the bottom of the reactivity series ⇒ Heating only
hope it helps you
