Why did Mr Oliver get frightened when he saw a boy in the forest who had no eyes, ears, noise or mouth?

Answers

Mr. Oliver was frightened when he saw the featureless boy because it was dark and the boy had been weeping in a strange soundless manner. Also,a boy without a nose or a mouth is of course not normal or natural . So,the only conclusion was that the boy was supernatural.

This realisation frightened Mr. Oliver.
