Similarly, memories are the affects ofour past experiences on our present self.Photographs can serve as memory storage and, when viewed, can activate memoryrecall.Photography is often linked to memory as an issue of its failure. Some may detect in the title of this paper an ambiguity between the memory of photographyas a technology that is “outmoded”, past its sell-by date, and photography as an “aide-memoire” machine to the human memory process of remembering.
