Presently the  non-farming activities are very small, where, out every 100 labourers/workers only 24 of them are engaged in non-farming activities

Some measures can be taken to enhance non-farm activities in villages, which are as follows:

  • Banks must lend loans at low rate of interest in order to help poor villagers to start business and assist them in making a livelihood from non-farming activities.
  • Government needs to be more involved and can launch successful job creation schemes. For various small crafts the government must provide the villagers with proper training.
  • In rural areas, government must provide transportation facilities and sell local produced goods to industries and in the cities.
