Given,

Three capacitors of capacitance 2 microfarad, 2 microfarad and 1 microfarad.

To Find,

The equivalent capacitance between the points A and C.

Solution,

First, we will find the capacitance when the capacitors of 2 microfarads each are connected in series.

1/c1 = 1/2+1/2

1/c1 = 2/2

1/c1 = 1

c1 = 1 microfarad

Now, capacitor c1 and 1 microfarad capacitor are connected in parallel

So,

Cnet = c1+1

Cnet = 2 microfarad.

Hence, the equivalent capacitance between points A and C is 2 μF.

Answer:

The Correct answer is option B.

The equivalent capacitance between the points A and C is: 2 μF

Explanation:

Given: Three capacitors are connected in triangle

To find:   Equivalent capacitance between the points A and C

Solution:

Three capacitors are connected in a triangle as shown in the figure

Find an expression for the equivalent capacitance between points a and c in terms of the three capacitance value

C_{\mathrm{eq}}=\frac{c_{1} c_{2}+c_{2} c_{3}+c_{1} c_{3}}{c_{1}+c_{3}}\\C= 1+1\\=2
