Answer:

$ 16.95

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :- No of consumers = 3

Base Price which is in form of variable,p

Each friend's share = $ 7.15

Extra toppings overall cost = $ 4.50

To find out :- Real value of variable i.e. , Base Price

Solution :- Total friends' share is 3 times their individual share which is ,

3 * 7.15 = $ 21.45

We are provided with extra toppings price i.e.

$ 4.50 .

Since remaining price is base price apart from extra toppings price ,

We have Base price (p) = Total friends' share - Overall toppings cost

which is p = 21.45 - 4.50

= $ 16.95
