Three students Priyanka, Sonia and David are protesting against killing innocent for commercial purpose in a circular park of radius 20m. They are standing at equal distance on its boundary by holding their hands.
(i) find the distance between each of them?
(ii) Which mathematical concept is used in it?

Answer:

1.The distance between them would be 40m.

As both are standing on the boundary of the circular park.

2.The mathematical concept used here is :

Diameter is equal to 2×radius.

Hence,

d=2r

d=2×20

d=40cm

Distance between each of them is 20\sqrt{3} and the mathematical concept used is that the if a circle is circumscribed on a triangle, then radius of circle = \sqrt{3} x side of the equilateral triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

As the distance between the Priyanka, Sonia and David are same. So, the triangle formed is an equilateral triangle.

They are at the boundary of the circular park. So, the triangle formed by them is an circumscribed triangle.

Given,

                      Radius 'R' = 20 cm

                   We know that the radius of circle x \sqrt{3} =  side of he triangle

So,         ⇒  a = \sqrt{3} r

             ⇒   a = \sqrt{3} x 20

             ⇒ a = 20\sqrt{3}

The concept use is  a = \sqrt{3} r, which is for equilateral triangle circumscribed in a circle.
