  2. In the inscriptions placed upon the king, identified as the giver of considerable gold coins, the maintenance of the Varnasrama Dharma typically appeared as a significant absolute duty.
  3. The first formal provincial and local government were properly established by Gupta. This was chiefly concerned with tax collection and law and order preservation.
  4. Also, the judicial administration has progressed much more than in earlier times. Usually, various law books were compiled and civil and criminal laws were clearly demarcated for the first time.
