Kumbha followed the fleeing army of Mahmood Khilji till the Fort of Mandu.

This was after the Battle of Sarangpur in which Mahmood Khilji was defeated. The battle took place in 1437 AD. The Sultan took refuge in his fort. However, Kumbha and his force surrounded the fort and took control of the same. Khilji and his army tried to flee in all directions but they were cornered. Kumbha returned to Chittor bringing Khilji along with him as a prisoner.
