a) The colour of the precipitate is YELLOW and the compound precipitated is PbI2.

b)Pb(NO3)2 +KI -------------》KNO3 + PbI2.

The balanced equation is
Pb (NO3)2 +2KI ----------> 2KNO3 +PbI2.
