There are two seasons: Kharif and Rabi

Kharif crops or Summer Crops are sown in the month of July and harvested in the month of October.
Examples of Kharif crop are Jowar, Rice, Millet, Maize, Soyabean, Turmeric, Groundnut, Sugarcane, Bitter gourd, Linseed (flax) etc.

Rabi Crops are agricultural crops sown in winter (November) and harvested in the spring (April).
Examples: Wheat, Oat, Barley, Cotton, Mustard, Coriander, Cumin etc.
