Limiting friction is the maximum frictional force at which the body is remain at rest

The frictional force or force of friction can be expressed as

{\displaystyle F_{f}=\mu N} {\displaystyle F_{f}=\mu N} (1)

where

{\displaystyle F_{f}} {\displaystyle F_{f}} is the frictional force (in Newtons),

{\displaystyle \mu } \mu is the static ( {\displaystyle \mu _{s}} \mu_s) or kinetic ( {\displaystyle \mu _{k}} \mu_k) frictional coefficient (dimensionless) and

{\displaystyle N} {\displaystyle N} is the normal force (in Newtons).

it could also be known as a friction.
