They lost 140 pennies together

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of pennies of Mia

Together, Dante and Mia have a total of 350 pennies in their piggy banks.

So, Dante has 350-x pennies

Dante lost pennies = \frac{1}{2}(350-x)

Mia lost pennies = \frac{1}{3}x

After this they both had equal no. of pennies

So, \frac{1}{2}(350-x)=\frac{1}{3}x

1050-3x=2x

1050=5x

\frac{1050}{5}=x

210=x

Dante lost pennies = \frac{1}{2}(350-x) = \frac{1}{2}(350-210)=70

Mia lost pennies = \frac{1}{3}x=\frac{1}{3}(210)=70

They lost together = 70+70=140

Hence They lost 140 pennies together
