Amount invested at 4% per annum = 13500 Rs.

Amount invested at 6% per annum = 26500 Rs.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let P amount is invested at 4% per annum and rest at 6% per annum

Interest in a year I = 2130

Here the period must be 1 year as the interest is far less compared to the amount and also the rate given is per annum

Thus,

Using the simple interest formula

I=\frac{nPr}{100}

2130=\frac{1\times P\times 4}{100}+\frac{1\times (40000-P)\times 6}{100}

\implies 213000=4P+40000\times 6-6P

\implies 2P=240000-213000

\implies 2P=27000

\implies P=13500 Rs.

Therefore, amount invested at 4% per annum = 13500 Rs.

Amount invested at 6% per annum = 40000 - 13500 = 26500 Rs.

Hope this answer is helpful.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Total amount of RS 40000 is invested. A part of it is invested at 4% and rest at 6% p.a. interest of all is Rs 2130 . How much is each investment

  • Given let one part be m, so total amount is invested = 40,000 – m, also r = 4%
  • Now Simple interest = m x 4 x t / 100
  •                                 = mt / 25
  • Also Principal P = 40,000 – m, r = 6%, T = t
  • S.I = (40,000 – m) x 6 x t / 100
  •     = (40,000 – m) 6t / 100
  • Adding both the equations to the total sum we get
  • So mt / 25 + (40,000 – m) 6t / 100 = 2130
  • So 2mt + (40,00 – m)3t / 50 = 2130
  • So t(2m + 1,20,000 – 3m) = 1,06500
  • So t(-m  + 1,20,000 ) – 1,06,500 = 0
  • Or – m + 1,20,000 – 1,06,500 = 0
  • Or – m + 13,500 = 0
  • Or m = Rs 13,500
  • Therefore amount invested at 4% will be Rs 13,500
  • Amount invested at 6% will be 40,000 – 13,500 = Rs 26,500
