1) judicious use of water while doing household works like washing utensils , clothes ,etc.
2) pipes should be turned off and repaired if leaking .
3) cattle bathing in water bodies should be prohibited .
4) industrial effluents should be treated before leaving it in the water bodies .
5) new methods of irrigation should be used like sprinkler irrigation , drip irrigation , water pumps .
