Well we all know how Yoga helps our body to stay fit and flexible. Of course yoga also helps us to calm our mind, concentrate better and generally give us a sense of overall well being.
Now what if I tell you that there is special kind of workout or therapy, specially for the mind...its called travel.
Yes travelling helps our mind stay fit and flexible. Let me explain how.
While travelling or even before travelling, we need to plan our trip, think about how we are going to reach our destination, what we are going to do there etc etc. Apart from that, we need to manage our money, our timings, our food etc etc. Isn't that a workout for the brain?
Also travelling widens our thoughts. We may be living in an orthodox community or a very liberal community. If we visit a place which is different from our comfort zone, we get to know hardships that other people may face or the reasons behind why a person from a particular background behaves the way he does. Thus making us more tolerant towards them in the future. Travelling helps us break our mental blocks.
Sometimes we may need to learn a new language, just to survive in the new surroundings. Isnt that a therapy for mind?
Thus we can conclude that travelling is a therapy to the mind as yoga is to body

As yoga keeps the body relax and energetic same is the case of brain and travelling. Brain when sees new locations, sceneries and people is relaxed and fit. The new places while travelling have good impact on mind. Muscles and nerves of eyes and brain get relax as a result brain is under peace.
