in the question, ad2=DB.CD again BC=2BD=2dc
as ad is perpendicular to BC, two triangles abd and ADC are right angled. we get by pethagorus, Ad2+bd2=ab2 and ad2+dc2=ac2 then bd2+dc2=ab2+ac2or, ac2+ab2=bc2 which mean angle a=90°
