It is true that salts are neutral.
But at times, they aren't always. Salt and water is formed when acids and bases are mixed together but they can still retain the acidic or alkaline nature if it wasn't a complete nullification or if the reactants are of diverse strengths.
For example: NaCl, KNO3, CaBr2, CsClO4 are neutral salts. However, the salt can be acidic, neutral or basic.
