yes it is true. that no of moles equals:

  \frac{given \: mass}{molar \: mass}

Explanation:

We know that one mole equal to 6.022×10^23 entities(molecules,atoms...)

so if we are given any no. of entities (x) then we can find no. of moles by dividing x by value of 1 mole( entities in one mole).That's simple maths.

Similarly, as for a particular element the molar mass is constant. We can find the no. of moles for given mass by same process.
