Let the number be x:
Twice a no. =  2x
product of 2 more that no. and 3 =  (x+2)3  =3x+6

Increased is added:
Therefore   2x + 3x + 6 = 21
                   5x + 6  = 21
                           5x= 21-6
                           5x= 15
                             x= 3

Therefore the number = 3

santy2: I hope twice a number is clear...that is 2 times that number(2x)
santy2: Two more that number is x+2(e.g 5 is 2 more than three i.e 2 more than 3 is 3+2=5)..product is multiplication: the question needs product of 3 and 2 more than the number(x) = 3 times (x+2).
santy2: Increased is addition therefore: you add twice the number(2x) to the product we just found up there{3 times (x+2) = 3(x+2) = 3x + 6} . There add the two; 2x + 3x + 6 and this is equal to 21. Then solve for x as in the solution above.
santy2: I hope....this further explanation shades more light and its clearer. Thanks.
kilu1: oh i understood now
kilu1: thank u so much
