then the distance travelled by car M=30u

Total distance between M and N=1km=1000m

The remaining distance=1000-30u

Now After 30 s, car N also starts its journey towards car M with the same speed and both cars meet at a point after 5min(=300sec)

distance travelled in 300 sec=300u

So, 300u+300u=1000-30u

630 u=1000
