There are a number of photo-sensitive compounds (think of photography film) that would be affected in a reaction in light, but I would say that 99+% of all chemicals could be reacted together in the presence of light and you would get the same results in or out of the light. Most lab research is done in glassware and hence photons are usually present, but essentially all production chemicals are made in plastic or metal reactors, and hence there is no light.
