GIVEN :

Two horses A and B run at speed of ◆3:2 ratio in first lap.

◆second lap ratio is 4:7

◆third lap ratio is 8:9.

TO FIND :

what is the difference in ratio of speed altogether between the two horses.

SOLUTION :

◆In 1st,2nd,3rd lap, speed of horse A = 3x,4x,8x .

◆Summing them up ,

total speed = (3+4+8)x = 15x

◆In 1st,2nd,3rd lap, speed of horse B,= 2x,7x,9x

Summing them up ,

total speed = (2+7+9)x = 18x.

◆Difference between their speeds,

That is speed of horse A - B

= 18x -15x =3x

ANSWER

The difference in ratio of speed altogether between the two horses is 3x .
