The correct answer is option C) i.e the max amount of water filled in the tank is 60%.

The two inlet pipes A and B have rate of flow 5 l/m and 3 l/m respectively at any nth minute. The outlet pipe has a flow of N/2 where N is the Nth minute.

N = 1 , total flow = 5+3-1/2 = 15/2

N = 2, total flow = 5+3-1 = 7

N = 3 , total flow = 5+3-3/2 = 13/2

and so on till N = 15 , total flow = 8-15/2 = 1/2

The amount of water in the tank = 15/2 + 7 + 13/2 + 6 + 11/2 ------- +1/2

= 15/2(15-7)

= 15/2 × 8

= 60

The Percentage of tank which can be filled = 60%
