  • As per the data given in the question, we have to determine the required number.

Let the required number are 3x and 5x respectively.

      According to the condition,

Two numbers are in the ratio 3:7 , we will write as,

       \Rightarrow 3x+7x=50\\\Rightarrow 10x=50\\\Rightarrow x=5.

       So, the Number will be,

       \Rightarrow 3x=3\times5=15\\\Rightarrow 7x=7\times5=35.

Hence, the smallest number will be 15.
