be x and y such that x> y. so equation 1 is x-y = 3. so x = y + 3. equation 2 will be 2y + 3x = 19. replace the value of x in equation 2.
now we get
2y + 3 (y + 3) = 19
2y + 3y + 9 = 19
5y = 19 - 9
5y = 10
y = 10/5 = 2
so x = 2 + 3 = 5
Ans x = 5 and y = 2
