a = 56 , b = ?

HCF( a , b ) = 8 ,

LCM ( a , b ) = 280,

We know that ,

a × b = HCF × LCM

=> b = ( HCF × LCM )/a

=> b = ( 8 × 280 )/56

=> b = 40

Therefore ,

Required second number ( b ) = 40
