two resistance are joined in parallel and eqivalent resistance of the combination is 3/5 ohms. if one of the resiatance is broken,the equivalent resistance becomes 3 ohms. the resistance in ohms of the wire that got broken is

Since the resistor broke....
3 ohms is Resistance of 1st resistor.

Now,
1/r + 1/3 = 5/3
so,
r = 3/4....
