Answer:

Total resistance = R1 + R2

= 10 + 15

= 25 ohm

v = i × R

5 = i × 25

i = 5 / 25

i = 1 / 5

i = 0.2 A

heat = I^2 R t

= 0.2 ^2 × 25 × 5 × 60

= 0.04 × 25 × 300

= 300 J

Answer:

  • Resistance by resistors = 10 ohm and 15 ohm
  • Connection in series
  • 5 v battery
  • Find - Current and Heat produced
  • Time = 5 minutes

Total resistance - 15 + 10 = 25 ohm

Finding the current –

Formula -

  • V = IR

I = V/R

I = 5/(15 + 10)

I = 5/25

I = 1/5

Current = 0.2 A

Finding the heat produced

Formula -

  • H = I²Rt

H = (0.2)² * 25 * (5*60)

H = 0.04 * 25 * 300

H = 4/100 * 25 * 300

H = 4 * 25 * 3

Heat produced = 300 J

___________________

  • Ohm's Law If temperature is constant, potential difference across the ends of resistor is directly proportional to the current.
  • Joule's Law The heat produced by the resistor is directly proportional to the square of current, directly proportional to the resistance, directly proportional to the time.
