Two spheres of the same size but of different materials rubber and iron are kept on the smooth floor of a moving train. If the driver suddenly applies brakes and the train stops will the spheres start rolling? If so in which direction? Will they move with the same speed?

Answer:
Since the floor is smooth, no external force is applied to the spheres,
hence, no torque to start rotational motion and no horizontal force to
change the linear momentum of the spheres. They will keep moving at
their original constant speed with respect to a ground observer.

Answer:
yes the balls start rolling. in forward direction because of law of inertia. no they will not move with same speed because mass of balls are different and mass is directly proportion to inertia and iron ball has greater mass than rubber so inertia is also greater . iron ball speed is lesser than rubber
