Two wires of same length (and of different material) are tied with two equal mass to hang. The
diameter of the wires are 1 mm and 2 mm. If the expansion in length of the first wire is 3 times of the
second, compare the young's modulli of the two wires. ​

1st wire:

increase in length=

FL/2πd²Y

2nd wire : increase in length.

FL/πd²Y

Ratio:

FL/2πd²Y: FL/πd²y

= 1:2
