Solution

Let the age of Karan be " x "

So , A/c to 1st condition ,

Age of Uday be " 3x "

A/c to 2nd condition ,

⇒ x + 3x = 36

⇒ 4x = 36

⇒ x = 9

So , Age of Karan , x = 9 years

Age of Uday , 3x = 27 years

Let , In " y " years Uday be twice as old as Karan .

⇒ 27 + y = 2 ( 9 + y )

⇒ 27 + y = 18 + 2y

⇒ 9 = y

⇒ y = 9

So , After 9 years Uday will be twice as old as Karan
