under what conditions can a body travel a certain distance and yet its resultant displacement be zero?

hey !! there are many cases in which distance is of many kilometres but displacement is negligible (0) . like : if you ask a cab driver to go on a circular path and do a whole revelution and the starting point and tge ending point are the same . then the distance is the circumference but the displacement is 0
