A: Fungi is often explained as any group of spore producing organisms. They are not animals, plants or bacteria but they have simple prokaryotic cells, fungi have complex eukaryotic cells like animals and plants.
Fungis are usually classified on the basis of Sexual reproduction, 5 groups:
●Phyla, Chytridiomycota(Chytrids).
●Zygmycota, Conjugated fungi.
●The Ascomycota, Sac fungi.
●Basidiomycota, Club fungi.
●Glomeromycota
B: Mucor is a microbial genus of aproximately 40 species of moulds commonly found in soil, digestive systems and plant surfaces etc.
In Mucor the Sexual reproduction takes place by gametangial conjugation. Some species are homothalic and heterothallic. Sexual reproduction takes place at the end of growing season.
