R.H. Whittaker introduced the famous five- kingdom classification system which is the most followed classification system in modern time. It includes the following five kingdoms:-
Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Animalia
We can group the above mentioned organisms into 5-kingdoms as:-
1. Kingdom Monera- Archaea and bacteria, all prokaryotic microbes
2. Kingdom Protista- Eukaryotic microbes and protozoa
3. Kingdom Fungi- Fungi
4. Kingdom Plantae

Algae, Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, Gymnosperms, Angiosperms
5. Kingdom Animalia
