1/f = 1/u + 1/v
f = always +ve
u = always -ve
v = ?
1/f - 1/u = 1/v
1/v = + 1/f + 1/u
so v is positive but as we know that the convex mirror is a diverging mirror so the light rays willl never ever meet so we have to make a virtual image.

Solution :
For a convex mirror: f is positive
∴f>0∴f>0
Since the object is on the left u<0u<0
1v=1f−1u1v=1f−1u
1v1v or vv is positive if the image is at the back of the mirror.
Therefore the image is virtual whatever be the value of u
Hope it helps u!!
