ᾰℵṧ.. For one thing, they possess up to 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to about six million in us. And the part of a dog's brain that is devoted to analyzing smells is, proportionally speaking, 40 times greater than ours. Dogs' noses also function quite differently than our own.

ᾰℵṧ.. We can find our sense of smell useful in many ways. As given in the question we can know by smell of food that it has gone bad or that something is burning. Apart from this, our sense of smell can help us to recognize tasty food, perfumes, deodorants, incense sticks,soap, flowers, gas leak in the kitchen, etc.
