Let do it by a little reasoning .

There are 12 hours for 360° , so in a hour or 5 minutes angle travel is 360/12 = 30°

At 2:20 , minute hand is at 4 and hour is in between 2 and 3 somewhere .

Now 30° for 1 hour or 60 minutes so for 20 minutes it is 10° . So our hour hand is at 10° more then 2 not at 2 .

So angle is 50° not 60°

or use formula

$| 30(h + \frac{m}{60}) -6 {m} | \\ = |30 \times( 2 + \frac{1}{3} ) - 6 \times 20 | = 50$
