Identity to be used :

(a+b)² = a²+b²+2ab

Given statement :

(x +  \frac{1}{x} ) ^{2}

=

 {x}^{2}  + ( \frac{1}{x} ) ^{2}  + 2 \times x \times  \frac{1}{x}   \\  \\ =  {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  + x \\  \\  =  \frac{ {x}^{4} + 1 +  {x}^{3}  }{ {x}^{2} }
